Adoptable Dogs

Hey, my name is Jade! I was used as an outdoor guard dog for the first few years of my life until being dumped at a shelter by the only family I’ve ever known. I languished away at that shelter for a year before Rebirth Rescue was notified about me. They quickly came to my rescue and gave me the best care and training. I waited until the year after that for someone to notice me while I bounced around temporary fosters and training programs. Then, Rebirth Rescue had to close their doors due to financial hardship and now I’ve been with Samson’s Squad for almost TWO YEARS! Unfortunately I was in boarding almost the whole time until finally my foster pawrents stepped up for me! I am soooo happy to now live in a stable home, I show my grattitude with so many smooches and happy dances. I am about 5 years old, spayed, and up to date on all my shots. I am even kennel trained and house broken! I love wearing my sweaters and jammies, and I sleep about 90% of the day! My favorite thing is to do is splat out on the floor and snooze on all the comfy things! For fun I enjoy the playing with the water hose or taking a dip in the pool. I am obsessed with peanut butter treats, but due to my allergies I'm a pescatarian. l love every person I meet and smother them with kisses, but I do need to be the only animal in the house due to my previous traumatic life. I am looking for a calm, confident, strong leader who will continue my training because I have over 2 years under my belt, and I want to continue to grow. I love to learn! I am muzzle trained (and I look so cute in my hot pink muzzie!), e-collar conditioned and I loose leash walk like a champ. I know place, stay, wait, leave it and more! Meet Gus, a 3 year old 60 lb Lab mix who was rescued with his brother from a barn in Barstow on Christmas Eve '22. They were found along with several other dogs who had been abused and neglected. Gus particularly had deep cuts and scars all over his sweet face. And yet, these boys wanted so badly to trust those rescuing them. We originally wanted to keep the brothers together, but it was proving to be more detrimental than helpful for them. Gus' brother was quickly adopted, and when they separated that was tough on Gus. His foster didn't have the time and patience to help him through it with at home training. So he went to board and train to work on his fears and separation anxiety. Fast forward over a year and a half he finally found a committed foster home and hes doing wonderful! Gus has come such a long way in his journey. He's been working very hard with his trainer and has overcome his fear of the crate. He loves walks and hikes and is very food motivated. Peanut butter is this guys favorite treat.  He now warms up to people in under 5 minutes and is asking for belly rubs. He even enjoys his mobile grooming appointments! Gus needs a patient adopter who's willing to continue helping him gain his confidence, and continue his training. He would does well with other calm dogs. No huskys or large energetic dogs, and while he has worked hard on his impulse control on chasing small animals, no cats. Apply to adopt him today!

Heddo! My name is Cade, and I’m an American Bulldog. I am about four years old and 80 lbs. I was rescued by Samson's Sanctuary after I was dumped out of a car in Azusa, CA in April 2022. I may be a big guy, but I have a big heart full of love to give. I love nothing more than to sprawl out on the couch, flip over and let my belly be exposed to the world. It's my favorite position to sleep in, and it shows how comfortable and relaxed I am in my home. Because of my past, I’m a bit cautious around men. I'm more comfortable at first if a female is around too. It's not that I don't like men, I just need time to warm up to them. Once I trust you, though, I will love you fiercely and never forget you. I'm best bros with all of my foster dads friends! Oh boy, do I love adventures! I'm always up for a good hike in the great outdoors. I love to be in water! There's so much to explore and so many new smells to sniff. I love getting my nose into everything and finding out what's around the next corner. When I'm out hiking, I like to take my time and really soak it all in. I especially love to find the biggest stick I can, and parade it around like a trophy. I’m independent but I do love spending time together, I prefer my people to be home with me but I don’t need to be in the same room with you always. I will rest my big head on your lap occasionally and I will sit in your lap for butt scratches. I prefer to be pet on my back until I trust you and then you can touch my head. I get along great with other dogs my size and smaller as long as they are friendly, but I do like to chase cats, so we probably wouldn’t be the best roommates. I’d be great in a home with older kids due to my size. One thing you should know about me is that I'm food motivated. If you've got a tasty treat for me, I'll do just about anything you ask and I will drool to prove it. And if someone comes to the door, I'll be sure to let you know. I'm a great guard dog and always on alert. I LOVE squeaky toys and tug of war. I’m also very fond of BONES and frozen tasty treats. I’ve been in foster care for TWO YEARS! But, my foster mom and trainer work hard on teaching me new skills and giving me structure and boundaries. I walk with a loose leash, although i prefer off leash now that I have worked hard on my recall, I am e collar trained, muzzle trained, I know multiple commands, and will work for food. I don’t mean to brag but I am extremely smart and learn very quickly! I need mental stimulation and a good amount of space for my zoomies. I even have my own social media @CadeTheBulldog ! Cosmo is an 11 month old puppy who was rescued from the euthanasia list as a tiny baby. This sweet boy was found with his siblings, missing their mom, and was brought to the shelter infested with ticks and worms. We assume he is a pit mix, he is currently around 50 lbs, and while we may not know exactly how big he will get we do know that he is so deserving of a loving home! Moonshine aka Moonie aka Hunky Chunky was part of a rescue mission for 75 dogs who were trapped in a flooded house in South Korea. For most of his life he lived on a chain, but now Moonie is being fostered in SD with his daughter! He is learning how to be a "normal" inside dog, and is doing great already! Teddy Bear is an adorable 11-ish-week-old Sharpei/Chow mix! He is about 25 lbs, a sweet, loving pup who is eager to learn and loves playing fetch!! Teddy’s life began in uncertainty, found with his siblings in a fast-food restaurants parking lot. A good Samaritan saw these tiny, defenseless puppies and brought them to the shelter, hoping they’d find safety. And they did, at first—all of the pups were quickly adopted at 8 weeks old, and Teddy was, too. But within just 24 hours, his teenaged adopter returned him to the shelter. Why? For simply being a baby—Teddy cried his first night away from his siblings and needed help with potty training. He was handed back as though he were such an inconvenience. (Fast forward to now, he is being fostered by a dog trainer who says he is the best puppy she’s ever worked with!) In shelters returned dogs often go to the top of the list for euthanasia. After being abandoned once, Teddy faced a second abandonment that could have ended his life. Thats when we stepped in! Now that Teddy is finally safe with a loving foster family, he has the freedom to show us how pawesome he really is! He is loving with all people, dogs, and cats! Teddy LOVES to learn! He already knows commands like "sit," "down," “place,” "come," and more! Teddy is working on crate training, and leash manners. We are so thankful his foster stepped up to give Teddy a stable environment to grow, learn, and build confidence in… now all he needs is his true furever family who will love him unconditionally, who won’t give up on him for simply being a puppy who needs guidance and care. Hi, I'm Baloney! I am about 6 years old, 65 lbs., American Bulldog/Boxer mix and I’m told I’m such a special guy because I have a fantastic attitude about life, despite my tough start. Before being rescued, I had been shot in the face, leaving me blind in one eye. Don’t worry; this doesn't stop me from enjoying life to the fullest! I was also found with stab wounds and was extremely underweight. I was initally brought to a rescue where I was stuck outside in the cold and ignored. I was then brought to another rescue where I began to thrive! Fast forward a few years and I had to move again, but thats okay because now I'm a part of Samson's Sanctuary! Despite a hard start, I have come a long way and I am healthy and happy now and looking for my furever home where I can love my people as much as they love me. Everyone says I really deserve that! One thing to know about me is that I LOVE water! I love to play but I do play a little rough, so a home with kids over 12 would be best. I enjoy other dogs if they are calm and respect my space. My dream home would be with a family who is active and likes to take walks, play ball with me, take me swimming or on a hike. Oh, and no cats, please!
